We have a very active Parent /Teacher Association known as Friends of Maple Ridge (FMR). We raise funds in many different ways such as events, grant applications and even packing bags at Sainsbury's! We have a number of fund raising events that we organise during the year including a May Fayre, Summer disco and another disco at Christmas.
All parents are very welcome to join FMR, regular meetings are held at school and a free crèche is provided for pupils and their siblings. Previous projects have included a trampoline, a canopy shelter, updating the swimming pool area and funding a new school library.
Easyfundraising: If you shop online please consider registering with Easyfundraising www.easyfundraising.org.uk as FMR will get money back on purchases made at no expense to you.
Mobile phones: We collect old or broken mobile phones. We can exchange phones for cash back or IT equipment.
Printer cartridges and toners: We collect used cartridges and toners for cash back. Unfortunately, the company will not accept cartridges or toners made by Epsom or Brother. Toners must be a brand name.
Foreign coins: If you have any foreign coins that you have no use for, we can exchange those also for cash back.
Bags for School: Twice yearly we take part in the Bags 2 School scheme, this usually happens in May and June. Bags are sent home to parents for filling. You can include in these bags any clothes (including belts), bags and shoes (tied in pairs please). However, they are unable to take school uniform, branded work wear, bedding or towels. The bags are weighed and we receive cash back for them.
We welcome any feedback, ideas or comments on current or future projects and events. We’d love to hear from you so please get in touch if you wish to join FMR. There is no obligation to come to every meeting or event. Join us and do as much or as little as you like.
