Music at Maple Ridge

Over the last year Hampshire Music Service have been running the Chairmans Year of Music Award. This has been open to all schools across Hampshire and involved us logging and submitting all musical activities Maple Ridge took part in, in and outside of school, and there were many!

We formed a school choir, sang at Winchester Cathedral, had music lessons with Mr Noyce and class lessons with the Hampshire music teacher. We held a Christmas performance, performed at Fernham Hall with one of our children singing a fantastic special solo in front of hundreds. We listened to and joined in with fabulous professional musicians, took time in lessons to use music to stimulate and enhance our learning and much more. It has been a fun packed musical year.

All of this led to us winning second place in the special school category and excitingly earning the prize of listen to me sessions. This means that all children will have access to Hampshire Music teacher led music lessons across the year which we are very excited about.

Thank you to all the staff who took time to lead and support Music at Maple Ridge and most importantly, thank you to the children for their enthusiasm.

We hope that we continue to grow the exciting musical experiences our children take part in over the next year and years to come.
