At Maple Ridge the School Council is an important and integral part of what makes the school.
In the Autumn Term, the children vote for who they would like on the school council to represent them and then two school council teams are formed. The school council meet on a regular basis and discuss what they think is important to the school, focusing on the school rules 'be kind, be safe, be helpful' as prompts for discussion.
Last term, children from the school council helped to choose and purchase new playground equipment for break time play. They also ran a stall at the school May Fayre.
This term, pupils have helped to raise money for Children in Need by decorating and selling spotty cakes and biscuits.
Next term they will be looking at how they think children can help to keep the school safe and tidy.
