PSHE
Wellbeing Day - 15 July 2022
We had our first Wellbeing afternoon on Friday, 15 July, as part of our new RSHE and PSHE curriculum. Our focus was on teaching that mental wellbeing is a normal part of our daily lives. Children were encouraged to say and show how they were feeling, reinforced by staff showing how they were feeling.
It emphasised the benefits of physical exercise, time outdoors and community participation on mental health and happiness by experiencing the importance of time spent with friends and how taking part in fun activities, indoors and outdoors, can make us feel happy.
We made food animals, bird feeders, miniature gardens and photo frames. We also had scavenger hunts and spent time in Forest School. We demonstrated the importance of rest by all having quiet time to eat our ice lollies!
We look forward to sharing our next Wellbeing afternoon in October with you.
